Notes from the iRAP Innovation Workshop (2012)

Star Rating Road Improvements

This report describes a methodology that uses iRAP Road Protection Scores (RPS) and Star Ratings to estimate the change in road safety risk as a result of infrastructure improvements undertaken at several hirisk sites in Malaysia under the black spot program. Changes in risk for car occupants, motorcyclists, pedestrians and bicyclists at 10 sites were assessed.

Star Rating from Road Design Plans: M2-R7 Saratenii-Soroca-Drochia Junction and M21 Dubasari-Goieni

The report summarises the results of an independent road safety assessment into the preliminary designs of the eastern section of the M21 Road in Moldova from the Nistru River to Goieni (about 23 km) and the final design of the Road Rehabilitation Project (RRP) M2R7 Sarateni-Soroca-Drochia Junction (about 93 km).

Star Rating Road Designs: Performance Indicators for Roads in India

This report describes how iRAP Star Ratings, which provide a simple and objective measure of the level of safety attained by a given road network, were used to help shape the safe design of 550km of concession roads in the Indian State of Karnataka.
