Inaugural Eastern and Southern European Workshop

AMSS_Veh

Participants from eight countries took part in the first EuroRAP workshop for Southern and Eastern European nations in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The workshop brought together road safety professionals from motoring clubs, road authorities, research institutes and industry in Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

The event featured a demonstration of the new Serbian motoring club (AMSS) road inspection vehicle.

In conjunction with the workshop, the Slovenian motoring club, AMZS, published its first Risk Maps, covering 6,500kms of motorways, main roads and regional roads.
Updated risk maps for Czech national roads have also published. They show that across 6,500km of roads there has been a one-third drop in the number of higher risk (black and red) sections in the latest three year data period.

New maps for 17,000km of national roads in Poland show that 60% of the network is high risk and accounts for 70% of all fatal and severe injury crashes.

The latest Europe results are available at http://www.eurorap.org.
